A Week in Kashmir’s Valley via Doodhpathri

As I arrived in Srinagar, the picturesque capital of Jammu and Kashmir, I was greeted by the cool breeze and the serene beauty of the Dal Lake. After settling into my accommodation, I embarked on a local sightseeing tour, exploring the iconic Mughal Gardens , dal lake , and soaking in the tranquility of the surroundings. The evening was spent strolling along the scenic boulevards, savoring the flavors of local cuisine, and immersing myself in the cultural richness of the city.

Leaving behind the bustling city life, I embarked on a scenic drive to Gulmarg, often referred to as the “Meadow of Flowers.” En route, I made a delightful stop at the enchanting Drang waterfall, marveling at its cascading beauty. Upon reaching Gulmarg, I was greeted by panoramic vistas of snow-capped peaks and lush meadows. The rest of the day was spent exploring the charming town and indulging in various outdoor activities, including trekking and horse riding

Continuing my journey through the pristine landscapes of Kashmir, I set off for Doodhpathri, a hidden gem known for its rolling meadows and gurgling streams. Spending some time amidst nature’s tranquility, I felt a sense of peace wash over me as I breathed in the fresh mountain air. Later in the day, I returned to Srinagar, cherishing the memories of my time spent in this serene paradise.

Venturing further into the heart of Kashmir, I embarked on a thrilling excursion to Aharbal Waterfall, where the majestic cascade captivated me with its raw beauty. Continuing my journey, I made my way to Pahalgam, a quaint town nestled amidst verdant valleys and snow-clad peaks. The evening was spent exploring the local attractions and indulging in the scenic splendor of this idyllic hill station.

Waking up to the crisp mountain air, I set out to explore the wonders of Pahalgam. From leisurely walks along the Lidder River to thrilling treks to Baisaran Hills, every moment was filled with adventure and discovery. As the sun began to set, I reluctantly bid farewell to Pahalgam, promising to return soon to uncover more of its hidden treasures.

On my final full day in Kashmir, I embarked on a day trip to Sonamarg, known as the “Meadow of Gold.” Surrounded by towering Himalayan peaks and alpine meadows, Sonamarg offered a mesmerizing glimpse into the region’s natural splendor. I spent the day exploring its scenic trails, capturing the beauty of its landscapes, and immersing myself in the serenity of the mountains.

As I boarded my flight back home, I couldn’t help but feel a twinge of sadness at leaving behind the enchanting beauty of Kashmir. Yet, as I looked back on my week-long journey, I knew that the memories I had made would stay with me forever. With a heart full of gratitude and a promise to return, I bid adieu to the Valley, carrying with me the echoes of its timeless charm.
